WHDA focus on the simple idea that everything we do must be of benefit to the community. We like to work with schools, community groups and private clients to create a better future for the people who will live, learn, work and play in the buildings we create.
Every new project requires a deep understanding of the client’s needs, budget, and vision, and no two briefs are the same. Our experience, and ongoing research, helps us understand your needs, design within your budget, and illuminate your vision.
SERVICES/PROJECTS
Working with Growing Schools
A good Master Plan brings together a school’s space and infrastructure needs, enrolment growth and capital planning.
Ilim College is an example of this: Master Plans, Capital Grant funding applications, and building design on three different campuses.
Working with Owner Builders
Many clients will consider the possibility of being “owner – builders”, or construction managing their project. We have the experience to advise you on whether this is possible; and to guide you through the project. Why would you do this? These projects have come in at least 15% below commercial construction rates.
Conservation
We start by looking at existing buildings as an as an asset, not a problem. It helps that we have have experience working on heritage buildings: refurbishments, rebuilds and additions.
Our experience and contacts in building conservation work led us to a different, and cost effective, solution for the client’s winning tender for Studley Park Boathouse. And we have been working with them for 25 years.
