ABOUT
DJ & IC Barclay Upholstery is a family run business, owned by myself, Duncan and my wife, Ingrid. I began my journey into furniture upholstery over 24 years ago as an apprentice working the factory floor. I had always loved innovative design and respected antique pieces and was keen to learn the process to reproduce these pieces. The many skills I have learnt through this time including attention to detail and creativity with professional knowledge epitomises the very feel of DJ & IC Barclay Upholstery. This is that not one item of furniture leaves our hands unless it is recovered, re-upholstered or produced to perfection.
Starting out like many other small business owners at home in our garage, we are now conveniently located in the Eastern Suburbs, at 40 Provident Avenue, Glydne with parking directly out the front of our shop.
Antique pieces are re-upholstered faithfully as they were originally and new pieces are dimensioned perfectly to create exactly what the customer is after. Concise and constant communication with the customer is what helps us streamline the flow of original quotation and order, through to finishing each piece and timely delivery.
We pride ourselves on not only our quality but also our versatility – we enjoy doing business with not only private customers, but also provide a service working with commercial, retail and Interior Decorators. We understand how particularly important it is to offer Interior Decorators a working relationship which understands their processes, timeframes and their customer's needs.
